Bobby Orr, whose ancestors are Scottish, was arguably the greatest player in Hockey history. He is certainly one of the great defensemen, as his rushing style redefined the position, turning it into a partly offensive one. Orr was voted Most Valuable Player three times and best defenseman eight consecutive years.
