The Northern Picts Project



In their October 2018 issue, Antiquity journal have an abstract about the Origins of Pictish Symbols. Doing a bit of research I discovered the Northern Picts Project.

From the web site: "Northern Picts is a project that aims to uncover the archaeological traces of Pictish society in northern Scotland." The web pages go into more fascinating details about their findings and explorations.

"The village of Rhynie in Aberdeenshire lies in an area rich in archaeology. In 2011 the Rhynie Environs Archaeological Project (REAP) began investigating features surrounding the Craw Stane, a Class I Pictish symbol stone which stands in the fields to the south of the village. This film offers a glimpse into the current interpretations of this complex and highly significant site."
