The ScotOrBot twitter account claims exists for: "Promoting free tools to help weed the bots out of Scottish Twitter."

Scot or Bot

They also identify fake people.

They have Online tools to help one analyze Twitter accounts to help determine if that account is real or suspect. You access those tools from their ScotorBot web site.

Botometer - is where you check a specific twitter account for bot probability. You can check Followers and Friends here also.

TweetBotOrNot - offer a tweet account and this tool gives a graph of the possibility of being a bot or not.

Bot Sentinel - this tool gives a much more complete array of useful analysis. As they claim in their introduction: "We launched Bot Sentinel to help diminish the effectiveness of trollbot accounts that infest Twitter. We believe Twitter users should be able to engage in healthy online discourse without foreign countries and organized groups manipulating the conversation." This tool is amazingly complex. Check it out.

Iain Neil

When most people think of Oscar Awards - or any awards - they generally visualize the actors. But there's a whole array of technical talents behind the camera that sometimes - but rarely - get acknowledged. Today I want to bring your attention to Glasgow born Iain Neil. He has won 12 Scientific and Technical Academy Awards for his pioneering work in optics and lens design for cinema. Included in his awards are the Fuji Gold Medal, two Emmy Awards and an honorary degree from University of Strathclyde in 2015.

This is the list of patents and inventions by Iain Neil. I certainly don't understand any of the details but please note there's four pages in this list starting from 1981 to 2016.

This Interview from 2009 Iain Neil discusses his work.

Scientific and Engineering Awards go to lain Neil for the optical design, and to André de Winter for the mechanical design, of the Leica Summilux-C series of lenses. From the Academy's Scientific & Technical Awards held on February 7, 2015 at the Beverly Wilshire.

I found a more complete article explaining the effect of Iain Neil's work on film-making. It's quite extraordinary to realize his work is found in about 40% of films made by the biggest studios.
