OFF THE BEATEN PATH

Princes Street Gardens

The Princes Street Gardens can hardly be thought of as being “off the beaten path” since they are right in the middle of Edinburgh and are found where the main Edinburgh train station is. None the less, they tend to be overlooked by many and yet there are a number of items of interest in them.

First there are a number of statues in the gardens, many dedicated to Scottish regiments such as The Royal Scots, The Royal Scots Greys

The most famous monument is the Scott Monument, located on the East side of the Gardens

So the next time you have some time and are near the Waverley Station in Edinburgh, you can easily go down into the Princes Street Gardens and enjoy views of the castle, the Scott Monument and The Royal Scots.
