ASSIGNMENTS
There are two assignments for the course. The first deals with creating a courseon crime and or mystery films and the second with preparing a lecture for one of the classes.
The course proposal involves writing up a justification for a course as well as indicating why such a course and oganizatin makes sense. In effect their should be a statement about the goal of the course - what it itends to do and why it is important that such a course be given. This should include material; about what kinds of thematic materials, film techniques and general "probklems" are there in dealing with this genre of films. The Leitch book discusses some of these..
Indicate what films you would choose to exemplify the direction the course is taking. That is to see what films would you show to make your points about where and why you are taking the course in that direction.
Choose 1 film from the 14 you have selected and write out the lecture you woudl give about that film tying your discussion to the goals of the course in general and being sure to discuss FILMIC techniques used in the fllm not simply the script or the acting.
