GRADING

Homework Assignments

3 √+ Homework is complete and shows conscientious effort and high level of accuracy
2 √ Homework is complete but contains a number of errors and/or is sloppily done
1 √- Homework is incomplete

At the end of the semester, all assignments will be tallied up and a grade based on the quality and number of assignments handed in – ON TIME

QUIZZES

There will be 5 quizzes and a final exam. Quizzes will focus on materials covered since the last exam. The final is comprehensive.

Quizzes are about 30 minutes in duration

Four quizzes are counted in the final grade. The quiz with the lowest grade is dropped. THERE ARE NO MAKE UP QUIZZES. IF YOU MISS A QUIZ THAT IS THE ONE THAT IS DROPPED

The Final Exam is scheduled for Monday, May 24th 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm in 3408 B,

Final: 25% Quizzes: 25% Homework 15% Attendance and positive participation 10%

ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance is required (this means showing up on time and being in the class during the period. Coming late or leaving the class for more that 10 minutes counts as an absence.

CELL PHONES

If you feel compelled to bring the damn thing to class, SHUT IT OFF! Phones which go off in class will be confiscated and destroyed and your grade will be dropped by one letter for each ring. No cell phones or electronic devices can be used during the quizzes or exams.
