House Types
Different peoples in the area had different types of houses. The most spectacular are the puebloes, a kind of "apartment house". Villages might have several of these as well as a ceremonial chamber called a kiva
The Navaho lived in a hogan. The Apache had a dwelling known as a wickiup, a kind of circular thatched hut. Pima and Papago people also had a kind of hut, although not circular.
